July is a great month for events in Chicago and the Northwest Suburbs! Entertainment is virtually non-stop, from Fourth of July celebrations, to community festivals all month long. Here’s a sampling of summertime favorites!

Arlington Heights Frontier Days – June 30 – July 4: Live music on 3 stages, plus a carnival, delicious food, and free family events and sports activities. Fourth of July parade steps off at 10 a.m. See website for parade route and event details!

Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest – June 30-July 4: Daily attractions include a carnival, arts & crafts, food, live music and business expo. Parade on July 1 at 11 a.m. Fireworks July 3 at dusk. See website for parade route and event details!

Naperville Rib Fest – June 30 – July 3: Pig out on tantalizing bbq ribs and enjoy live music by big-name recording artists, as well as great regional brands on 3 stages. Entertainment for the whole family with carnival rides and kid’s activities. Fireworks on the 3rd at Knoch Park.

Windy City Ribfest – Uptown Chicago at Lawrence and Broadway – June 30 – July 3: Full-slab rib dinners from Chicago’s best BBQ chefs. Plenty of live music, plus cold beer. Daytime kid’s area.

Navy Pier Rooftop Terrace – Freedom Fest and 4th of July Fireworks: Enjoy delicious food and a live DJ while you await the spectacular fireworks on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Admission fee applies, get tickets now before they sell out! Doors open 6:30 pm, fireworks at 9:30 pm. There’s plenty of events happening around Navy Pier all month long, see website for details!

Taste of Chicago – July 5-9: Grant Park becomes a sampling of the best food and music in the Windy City! Experience awesome food from 33 restaurants, plus a beer hall, a wine garden, and kids zone.

West Chicago Railroad Days – July 6-9: Free event at Reed-Kepler Park includes a car show, carnival, activities for kids, live music and beer garden. Fireworks on Saturday, parade on Sunday at 1 pm. See website for entertainment lineup and parade route!

Square Roots Festival – Lincoln Square – July 7-9: Choose from over 40 local craft brews, while enjoying a diverse lineup of live music on 4 stages. There’s plenty of delicious food, plus a family area with activities for the kids. Family area open 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Event located on Lincoln Avenue between Montrose and Wilson.

World Arts & Music Festival – July 15-16: Experience international arts, dance, food and music in Dawes Park. Family activities. Free admission! 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Kane County Fair – July 20-23: Old-fashioned family fun with judged exhibits, farm animals, carnival rides, tasty food and special entertainment. See website for daily events and discount tickets!
